What is the Melbourne Variety Santa Fun Run?

The Variety Santa Fun Run is a family–friendly fundraising event scheduled for Thursday, December 10, 2009 at Palms Lawn, in Albert Park Lake. Both young and old in Santa costumes may participate in either the 5-kilometer or 10-kilometer categories. "You can run it, walk it, skip it, roll it – finish it however you like, but just make sure you do it in your official five piece Variety Santa suit." The suit cost is included in the registration fee.

Individuals, families or colleagues and friends are encouraged to find sponsors for their run. More sponsors aid the success of fundraising the drive for kids in need. It’s EASY! Send your fundraising page to family, friends, co–workers or anyone else who might be interested in helping you raise money for Variety.

How to Join the Santa Fun Run?

Please read the instructions below fully, before starting your registration process
Registration fee for those 10 and over includes a five piece Santa Suit, for those under 10 it includes a Santa Hat and Beard Teams & Family entries

• Family entries:
  • Maximum of five family members.
  • please ensure you include a team name for your family

• Team entries:
  • Minimum of six members per team
  • please ensure you include a team name for your team

Donations:
Kick start your fundraising, go in the draw for amazing prizes and help Australia’s sick, disadvantaged and special needs kids.  When you help a child, you help a family.  When you help a family, you help a community.

• $50 will give the gift of Joy, providing children with an opportunity to be part of activities or events that through disability or hardship they otherwise could not experience.

• $200 will give the gift of Education, helping kids with disabilities fulfil their academic potential by supporting schools with special equipment.

• $500 will help give the gift of independence and mobility, providing wheelchairs, communication aids, Sunshine coaches, Liberty Swings and walking frames.

• $1000 will assist to improve the lives of disadvantaged children through the provision of children’s specialist intensive care equipment and emergency transport ambulances.
